The Braga chapter of the Associação Pais em Rede cares for children with special needs, and needs to purchase a van capable of carrying nine people and two wheelchairs so that the children can be driven to places of recreation and learning.
Parents who pick up their children at CLIB know that the school lends its facilities for the activities of children and young people with special needs (autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and other neurological difficulties).
Many of us are moved by the commitment and compassion of the volunteers and professionals who care for these children on a daily basis, children without any prospect of achieving full self-sufficiency.
This effort is led by Pais em Rede, an association formed in 2008, today with branches throughout the country. Unlike most organizations that support children with special needs, who take them to centers of occupational activity where little developmental progress is made, Pais em Rede trains them to fulfil their professional and emotional potential in the "real" world, putting them into functions and jobs where they interact with people without the same difficulties.
The logistical problems of transporting these children are considerable. Volunteers and professionals use their private cars for this purpose, without adequate adaptation; parents and families also use cars, taxis, or buses, dealing with motor difficulties and heavy wheelchairs. There is an urgent need for a 9-seat van that can transport these children to CLIB and other places of therapy or conviviality, and at the end deliver them back to their homes.
We researched the price of used vans, and the cost of adapting them to children with special needs. Even with the tax incentives of a non-profit organization, we need to raise the minimum amount of € 26,000 (budgets available).
The campaign will be open for 60 days; If we do not reach our goal, the donations will be returned (except those designated as unconditional).

Your donations will benefit from tax incentives provided by law. Donate as much as you can, even if it's €50! It would be rewarding and exciting as a community if we could achieve 100% participation from CLIB families.
Once the crowdfunding commission is deducted (see details on the website), 100% of what is collected will be used to purchase and adapt the van, that will belong to the Braga chapter. The family of André Costa will support the initiative and supervise the obtaining of qualified driver.
When deciding whether to help, and with your choice of amount to be donated, please keep in mind that this is not an abstract cause. We can make a tangible and immediate difference by helping specific children, children we see and meet every day, and who already enjoy assistance from CLIB. Many more will benefit if we have the means to transport them.
