The "Casa das Cores" support home is a social response to residential care for children and young people between 6 and 16/18 years old with disabilities and/or special educational needs, who, in a given period of their lives, need a substitute response from the family. It aims to create a dynamic that is as close as possible to the family environment, providing the necessary conditions to promote the physical and emotional balance and social inclusion of each child/youth, in complementarity with the family, school and community.
The Hogar de Apoio has been operating for 14 years with a typical Social Security agreement in a building owned by ARCIL, which was built in the 1980's for independent adult disabled people. Over the years it has been adapted, but not enough to accommodate all the children and young people who need this response. In addition to structural problems of insulation, conservation and comfort, it has serious accessibility issues. We need an elevator to access the 1st floor, adapted bathrooms and rest and leisure areas that are more adequate to the children and young people we welcome.
More and more children with a higher degree of dependence are being referred to us and the House should be prepared to receive them, providing a higher quality support. The remodeling works we are waiting for are structural for the building, improving comfort and accessibility for all children and young people. They will allow us to have adequate and differentiated spaces to improve care and develop activities according to the specific characteristics of each one.

IT ALL STARTS IN 1976...
A group of people, led by a father and a social worker, faced with the difficulty of educating their children, meet, associate and create ARCIL.
After more than 47 years, the principles and intervention philosophy of the institution remain very consistent. However, there are important differences in relation to its recipients, the activities it develops and the physical, technical, human and financial resources it puts at the service of its mission.
ARCIL has grown in number of users, who have grown from children to youth and adults. New units, new responses, new teams, projects and partnerships have been created at local, regional, national and international levels, seeking the qualification, specialization and adaptation of responses to the specific needs of each person.
ARCIL is thus a Private Institution of Social Solidarity that seeks to contribute to the effective social inclusion of people with disabilities, promoting a change in the view of disability and diversity.

We are made up of 9 RESPONSES & PROGRAMS, in the area of Empowerment and Inclusion, and 10 INCLUSIVE SOCIAL BUSINESS UNITS.

Budget and due dates
The amount of 25K that we are considering with this campaign is only a part of the total amount we need to raise for the "Casa das Cores" rehabilitation project.
The project has a budget of 450,000 euros. ARCIL made an application that was approved by the Social Relief Fund and we already have the amount of €284,400 in support, but we still need to raise the amount of €165,000.
To raise this amount, a Fundraising Plan was developed, which includes several actions that will take place throughout this year 2023, including the Crowdfunding campaign (25k); presentations to large local companies, which is already underway (50k); presentation to suppliers and customers (100 identified according to business volume and loyalty to ARCIL - 90K); lunch + solidarity tournament with the community (5k).
In terms of timing, the work is expected to start, after launching the public tender in June, to begin in September and to be completed in December 2023.
