Main Goal

The Lisboa Devils are an American Football team created in 2013 and we want your help to continue to grow in a sport that is clear growing in our country, which already has about 500 athletes in 11 teams from North to South Portugal.


Although we are on the right track, we have budget necessities that behind the monthly fee paid by all of our players. With the proper financial boost we will achieve, in a short/medium term, the goal of becoming National Champions! With the money raised we are going to invest in better training equipment as well as on improving our training conditions, especially when it comes to machines that enhance our athlete’s performance.

 

Devils and its communication

A strong focus on communication was an early mark in Devils DNA: in one year only we have almost 5000 followers on Facebook! This platform turns out to be our greatest weapon because we can capture the attention of our target audience with some creative advertising that helps us increase the interaction with the publications as well as the notoriety and spontaneous recall of the team.

About the author

The Lisboa Devils

The beginning of the Devils was very promising: in September last year more than 100 guys attended our tryouts, making our roster one of the youngest in the Portuguese League, ensuring a solid base of work for the following years.

 

2013 was the first year the Devils in competition. In the 5th edition of the Portuguese Football League were the only first-year team to compete and reach the playoffs.

 

The 2014 season has already started on September 6th and we had two rounds of tryouts, with more than 90 athletes that wanted to be part of the Devils. Currently we are the squad with more man power in the Portuguese league (over 70 athletes).

 

 

Our coaching staff is also one of the largest in our country, with nine coaches (one of them American and another Canadian), with extensive experience and knowledge in the sport.

Budget and due dates

For this action we wish to raise €2000 until December 31. Although the next season is already underway, we believe this is a reasonable time and we will improve our training conditions for the begging of the League’s 6th Edition (January 11, 2015). Last year the team budget was nearly €17.000 euros/$21.000 dolars and more than 90% of this money was supported by the players monthly feed as well as merchandising revenues. When it comes to expenses, they are a lot: • Payment to the Sports Club where we practice and play; • Insurance; • Training gear; • Game day material; • Training Camp at a hostel; • Helmets, shoulderpads and jerseys; • Game day expenses (bus, physiotherapist); • Ambulance (home games); • Investment on Merchandising; • Payments to the Portuguese Association of American Football (referees and registration of athletes). Even after all these expenses, our team ended the first year of activity with profit! We managed to, with the income earned, pay for all of our obligations, like the loans some Board members made to the team, essential to the good start of the team’s activity).
