In the month of Health, Healthy Living and Family in the Municipality of Ílhavo, ACTIVATE in this support to our Firefighters
Ílhavo ATIVA-TE is an unprecedented and innovative project that aims to materialize and join the three strands that identify May as the month of Health, Healthy Living and Physical Activity and Family .
It is a multidisciplinary municipal project that integrates a diverse set of challenges to the community, in all its dimensions (individual, collective, associative), which promotes Physical Activity, Sport, Quality of Life, Health and Solidarity of the citizens, involving them directly in a program that enhances physical activity and health prevention, carried out individually, as a family or collectively (in a group).
We offer an unprecedented concert through the social networks of the Câmara Municipal de Ílhavo, dedicated to the artist Carlos Paião. Inspiring successive generations of Portuguese musicians, we brought together on the stage of the Casa da Cultura de Ílhavo six projects with musicians from Ílhavo to celebrate the work of Carlos Paião, with the concert "Em Playback".
In Ílhavo ACTIVATE we will also promote the collective identity and solidarity, in support of the Humanitarian Association of Voluntary Firefighters of Ílhavo .
Our Firefighters need to renew the ARICA (Open Circuit Insulating Respiratory Apparatus), a respiratory equipment used in potentially toxic atmospheres, with low oxygen content, consisting essentially of a facepiece, bottle, pressures for fixing the device to the user, dorsal support, pressure gauge and audible safety warning.
ARICA is one of the essential equipment for the survival of a firefighter in a risk situation.

At the end of the campaign, the funds raised will be delivered to the Volunteer Firefighters of Ílhavo for the acquisition of Open Circuit Insulating Breathing Apparatus - ARICA. Respiratory equipment used by firefighters when they need to act in potentially toxic atmospheres, with low oxygen content. It is designed and built to allow the user to breathe, by call, the air coming from a high pressure bottle (or bottles).
An ARICA consists essentially of a facepiece, bottle (s), brackets for fixing the device to the user, back support, pressure gauge and audible safety warning. (see pictures)
ARICA is one of the essential equipment for the survival of a firefighter in a risk situation. It is so important that in Portugal no trainee (apprentice of Fireman) can be promoted to Fireman without knowing the main components of an ARICA and how to put it correctly.
