How many hours do you have to walk to fetch water? Here in the locality of Thamela in Itoculo, families have to walk between two to three hours to get access to portable water! Can you imagine your life without Water?! Water gives life.
The locality of Thamela is situated approximately 50km from Itoculo-Sede. One of the communities belonging to this locality is Namialo. Families in Namialo have to walk approximately three hours to have access to portable water. In the dry months such as October, November and December, locally dug-out holes dry up. The rests of the five communities in the Thamela locality have to depend on one mechanical bore-hole for portable water. The project “Água é vida” which means water is life, started out of the necessity to provide portable water for the population of Itoculo.
The objective of this project is to construct a mechanical bore-hole in one of these communities. The construction of more than one bore-hole depends on you. Just imagine that you have to walk two to three hours in search of portable water. Our principal objective is to better the quality of life of families in these communities by providing them with one of the essential good like water.
