Noite da Medicina is the largest and oldest academic spectacle in the country, a non-profit, held annually by the finalists of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon.
Its first edition was held in 1929 and, despite its ironic and critical content, survived the censorship periods of Estado Novo, growing year after year with the commitment of all the students of Santa Maria's Hospital.
On this evening, with an audience of about 3300 people (among students, family, teachers, doctors and employees), 400 students take the stage and, in a satire they recreate, remind their university life, their concerns and their passions.
Noite da Medicina thus becomes an unparalleled moment of conviviality and unity between the academic community, culminating in the reception of new students and farewell to the graduating students, marking successive generations of doctors.
In recent years, Noite da Medicina has won audiences far beyond its students, from being a punctual show to becoming a national phenomenon, thanks to the success of sketches presented in it as "Medicina Não Pára" with more than 700,000 views and "Estudando", which counts more than 920 000 views and has been presented in several television channels and radio stations.
The next edition of the event will take place at the beginning of November 2019 and counts on your help!
For the show to be possible, the Organizing Committee of the Noite da Medicina, together with all the finalists of the Medicine course, asks for your contribution, in what will be a unique moment in our lives.
