A humble cottage in the woods, a young couple lost, and an old woodcutter with a story to tell.

Lost in the forest on a stormy night that caught them unsuspecting, Maria and Miguel eventually take refuge at the home of an old woodcutter. A nearly blind man with a sinister expression and a bizarre obsession with crumbs, who urges them to stay overnight. The idea disturbs Miguel, whose fertile imagination of a young filmmaker suspects the intentions behind that offer. Maria, however, sees this adventure as an opportunity, and seems to be determined to free Miguel from his innermost insecurities that stubbornly cloud their young relationship. One night in a cottage, in the middle of the forest, seems to be the ideal scenario for all desires, hunger pangs and spells to be released – a place where, apparently, this old woodcutter of strange habits does not live alone.

This is the story that Häuschen – A Herança will tell, and you can have the leading role in this adventure.

Inspired by the Grimm brothers' classic, Hansel & Gretel, directors Paulo A.M. Oliveira and Pedro Martins, partnering with the production company "The Widow," propose to make a short film in the scope of terror and fantastic, contributing, along with the experienced team that we present below, to promote a cinematographic niche which in the Portuguese context still has much to explore. This new project follows the success of Calipso, a project that was sponsored by the PPL platform in 2018 and which got some exposure, nominations and awards at some film festivals at the national and international level: MotelX (Portugal), Fantasporto (Portugal), Cine Horror (Brasil), Hell de Janeiro (Brasil), Hrizantema (Sérvia), Short Cutz (Portugal), Ymotion (Portugal, Caminhos (Portugal), Lucid Dream (Itália), Mostra do Cinema Português (Portugal), Unrestricted View Horror Film Festival (Inglaterra), Flash Film Festival (Berlin), Feel The Reel (Escócia), Sixth Sense Horror Filme Festival (India) e The Grave Plot Film fest (EUA).
