To improve the quality of life of people with dementia, we will want to create a multisensory resource center that allows stimulating the senses, enhancing sensory capacities.
To respond to people with dementia and their informal and formal caregivers, the Social Works Viseu , in 2013, the Alzheimer Support Center Viseu. We started with a secretary, a telephone and a great desire to inform, raise awareness in the community and support those who were without any social and emotional support. Since then, we have been creating new services - Mutual Aid Group, Memory Space, Coffee Memory , Training, Seminars (...) - in addition to the psychosocial and legal support that we have since the first hour.
We submitted an application (they will do 3 years in October) to Social Security for the creation of a Quality of Life Unit (Including the Multisensory Resource Center). To date, we have received no response.
We do not let our arms down and so we ask for your support in order to create the Resource Center that we consider essential to improve support for people with dementia.
Help us not to leave people with dementia forgotten and it will certainly not be forgotten!

The Social Works of Viseu - Private Social Solidarity and Institution - were founded on April 30, 1956. They develop the social responses and the following projects: Nursery, Pre-school Education, Alzheimer Support Center Viseu, Service and Social Monitoring (SAAS), Contraos Locai Social Development 4G Viseu Comunidae de Afetos and Viseu Positivo. The Alzheimer Support Center Viseu, founded in 2013, responds to one of the great social and health challenges of the 21st century, contributing to improving the quality of life of people with dementia, informal and formal caregivers and family members, seeking to contribute to that can improve their quality of life and in building a Friendly Community for People with Dementia.

Budget and due dates
This campaign aims to raise the necessary amount to equip the Multisensory Resource Center with the minimum equipment necessary to reinforce non-pharmacological therapies, within the scope of cognitive stimulation. We launched this campaign in September - World Month of People with Alzheiemr's Disease and we intend, by the end of the year, to create the conditions so that in January 2021 we can provide more and better conditions for people with dementia.
