A Year of Adventures

"A Year of Adventures" shows my experience in Romania and the countries around. I want to count on your help to be able to travel and share these same trips with you. I want to show that it is possible to leave the comfort zone and have fantastic adventures.

This little adventure began in October 2015 when I decided to make an EVS in Romania. For a year (still ongoing) I chose to make volunteer in an environmental project in Ramnicu Valcea. The project has six volunteers that decided to leave their "comfort zones" and venture into the land of our friend Dracula.

Small description of the project - The name of my project is "Go For Green" and consists in activities in the Romanian communities, conducting environmental campaigns, promote Cozia park and seminars about the progam Erasmus +. There are six volunteers from Portugal, Spain, Poland, Germany and Turkey. My sending organization is ProAtlântico.

I never thought it would be such a fantastic adventure. Living with people from different countries, meeting new cultures, make new friends ... it really is fantastic! Adding to this unique experience are also the trips. Since I'm here in Romania I managed to visit several countries and I wish I could count on your help to visit more. Of course also share with you these trips.

The obejctiv is to get 500 euros for travel to Turkey and if its possible travel also to the Balkans.

Hello, I'm Cátia, I'm 21 years old and I'm from the north of Portugal. I am currently living in Romania because I decided to leave my comfort zone and see the world. I make volunteer for a project on the environment and some of my activities are doing "Treasure Hunts" clear the Cozia park, take pictures and do workshops.I like playing football, cycling, computer games,get lost in Cozia tracks, books and movies. Recently I also discovered a taste for traveling. I learned to live with different cultures and to use tools that have never used before like couchsurfing or bla bla car.

 When I have a few days "off" I manage to visit other cities in Romania or other countries. I also decided to start making a blog where I share my adventures and of course the Portuguese culture.

Budget and due dates

I still have three months to complete my EVS and while I'm doing volunteer I can´t work at the same time. Planning in advance my travel (bus, accommodation etc...) helps me saving money. The money will be for:
- food
- transport
- accommodation

Deadlines: Until the end of July.
