Christmas Miracle for Mel

Mel is a senior cat who was abandoned in a colony. She has gingivitis that prevents her from eating and the only cure is a total tooth extraction. She needs a Christmas Miracle to improve her quality of life.

Mel is a senior kitten who was abandoned in a colony in the municipality of Arruda dos Vinhos!
The caregiver asked us for help when she noticed the kitten's difficulty in eating.

We couldn't remain indifferent and Mel went to the clinic for a consultation and tests. Sweet Mel had bad gingivitis (negative Felv test) and came with medication for a week.
Fortunately, he started eating again.
However, it is a recurring condition and Mel stopped eating again due to gingivitis and new medication was needed, just to alleviate the symptoms.

To give her a better quality of life, Mel needs to have a tooth extracted.

We have had many requests for help and we cannot do it alone; we know that together we will perform the Christmas Miracle for Mel and help this sweet old lady.

About the author

"Sobral Pelos Animais" is a non-profit association and was legally constituted on October 4, 2023 (Animal Day); the idea was born from the persistence and stubbornness of our current President who, although already dedicated to the animal cause for several years, wanted to add something more to the defense and protection of animals, and through the free solidarity of the people who later joined this project.

After a continuous and unique effort by several people and associations that supported us for more than a year, it was possible for "Sobral Pelos Animais" to go from idea to realization.

We do not have a physical shelter space, but we work to improve the lives of animals in our municipality and beyond, collaborating with other projects and associations in other municipalities.
We do depend on Fat's (temporary foster families) who, with the full support of the association, take care of the animals until they are sent for responsible adoption.

Budget and due dates

The amount raised will be used to carry out Mel's tooth extraction surgery as well as post-surgery medication.

We intend for Mel to be able to undergo surgery before 20.12.2024
