At this time the Associação Projecto Criar (APC) tracks about 160 victims and their children.
From January 2013 until March 2014 made more than 2,000 calls for legal and psychological nature and we want to continue to give this support.
Within one of these attendances met Sónia Honório, whom we help.
The Sónia has two sons and is a painter and cook. At the time we know that Sonia was nothing! Was lost.

Now it is Sónia who wants to help the world! Became a self-representative and now helps other victims. Started doing exhibitions of painting, where he talked about how he felt when he was the victim of domestic violence, hence the name "metaphors". Each frame has an explanation, whose photographic sample is available to see. These displays have much paint as writing (felt) and at one point I did consider all traspôr sense for the role all that Sonia was exposing, through a book with the same name of the exhibition "Metaphors VVD" .

We believe that art is a great way of expression, perhaps the easier perception on the subject. And through art anyone, no matter which age your able to get the message, or at least register it differently.
Anyone reading this book will have certainly another perspective on domestic violence.
Who is the victim may, through this book, be willing to break the cycle of violence in which they live.
Who does not know the meaning of domestic violence can go to understand its meaning, or at least what a victim feels.
And who does not recognize some acts as surely violence that will identify them as such.

About the author
With a strong desire to change the paradigm of the defense of children in Portugal, two people have come together to make this dream a reality. Maria Clara Sottomayor, Judge of the Supreme Court and Leonor Valente Monteiro, a lawyer, reconciled efforts and founded Associação Projecto Criar (APC), which formally was born in June of 2011.
In performing its activities the Association is inspired by the principles enshrined in major international Diplomas.
However the Associação Projecto Criar was raised with the NGO character of public utility, because since its incorporation has led to countless cable projects.
The heart of its activity, APC provides legal and social assistance to women, children, youth and families nature, clinical services (which are always as victims) in civil guardianship proceedings, tutorial educational, promotion and protection of children and young people in danger and in criminal cases, particularly in cases involving crimes of sexual abuse, maltreatment, domestic violence and human trafficking.
The APC wants to increase awareness of the dignity of the child as a human being, creating a new approach and a new culture in relation to children, both in the courts and in society in general, with the last stronghold to improve the administrative and judicial decisions regarding children and the implementation of best judicial and administrative practices in order to reduce the revictimization.
We intend to promote a systematic intervention, outreach and networking to solve these cases. For this purpose, the APC created the GIAC (Interdisciplinary Office for Child Support) and the VITA Area where the individual psychological counseling and group therapy arises. We also organize training sessions for lawyers / as, social workers, psychologists / and the technical / the Commissions for Protection of Children and Young People in Danger (CPCJ) in order to give the necessary expertise to / referred to / professional view best to intervene in such proceedings.
APC, through such formations created BE - handbag experts, which included people from multidisciplinary areas and who uses them when necessita.Também under the VITA project we undertake analysis of the functioning of the Commissions for Protection of Children and Young People endangered (CPCJ), and organize forums 4, a day each, with the ultimate goal of editing a manual of best practices for CPCJ. The articulation of the judiciary with the VITA Space and the GIAC is also one of our goals, which gradually begins to be visible.
