We know what we want better than anyone! We want to be champions. We refuse futsal to be an elite sport and only for men. We propose to change that image, building a winning team.
The stakes are high and the current context is complicated with all the safety requirements that are imposed on those who intend to do it seriously. The scenario of the team that survives at the expense of tuition and parental sacrifice for rides and homemade cakes, has been replaced by sports insurance and safety guarantee certificates, since the presence of emergency signs, recruitment, choice and identification of properly trained personnel or the presence of defibrillators during tests and training. A handful of euros have been transformed into a few hundred and now thousands so that the futsal show reaches our supporters safely. Clubs feel strangled with overheads and are often unable to use the funds for those who contribute most to building their name ... we athletes. The intention of this campaign is to provide the athletes with the necessary funds so that we can better develop what we know, play futsal, but for which we do not have a budget even with the help of our parents.
We believe in the team that leads us and that has sacrificed so much that during 2020 we had the opportunity to continue training. We are counting on you, our sixth player, our audience, to realize this dream and return to the competition. Together we are stronger, we are one, we are Futsal. TOGETHER we will be invincible.
About the author
Quim Pereira, futsal coach, former professional athlete of the sport, several achievements throughout his career. In February 2020, he took on a team of athletes abandoned by his former coach, revolted, and after 2 training sessions he faced a regional futsal power. He left with a team.
Tony Marques, a former football professional, has never abandoned the sport, remaining to this day connected to the Veterans League, namely as a goalkeeper coach. His daughter's passion for futsal drove him to this variant and created the necessary motivation to give himself up to this winning project.
Vitor Hugo Oliveira, more than 20 years of sports practice, expert in Martial Arts (Mestre de Jujutsu), several formations in the scope of sports training, dragged to futsal by the passion of his two young sons, immediately accepted the challenge of collaborating in physical preparation of this group and in this ambitious project.
Nuno Abreu, Nurse, Postgraduate in Health Services Management, Training as a Personal Trainer, Sports Nursing, Crosstraining Specialist, 1st Dan in Shotokan Karate, respecting his daughter's love for Futsal and the void existing in local clubs for the organization of a serious and safe team, capable of projecting athletes to a level not yet seen in the Greater Porto area, decided, together with Tony Marques, Quim Pereira and Vitor Hugo, to create the roots of what will become the reference in women's Futsal in the North of the country.
Bearing initial costs that would otherwise keep the group from fulfilling its dream, they are now trying to face the challenges that this pandemic has brought to the modality, needing public collaboration to bring the project to a successful conclusion.
Budget and due dates
May 2020 - Preparatory meetings and creation of a management and technical team. Head Coach, 1 Assistant Coach, 1 Physical Trainer, 1 Step Manager, 1 Health Coach, 2 Sports Venue Assistants
June to October 2020 - Recruitment of athletes. Beginning of general training. Preparatory meetings.
October to December 2020 - Definition of squad (12 to 15 athletes), medical exams, registration of athletes, payment of fees, purchase of equipment, acquisition of specific training material and game balls. Targeted training and physical training. Preparation of the Club Certification Dossier.
General budget for 1st year:
Medical tests - 150euros; Registration of athletes and fees from the Porto Football Association - 1300 euros; Acquisition of equipment for athletes - 1500 euros; Acquisition of specific training material (balls, cones, stairs, barriers, canteens, etc.) - 350euros.
Coach - 500euros (per sport season)
Other expenses (travel, meals, arbitration, policing, etc.) - 1200euros
Total budgeted 1st year - 5000euros
