Bartô's team needs your help! After more than a year closed and without receiving any support, we need everyone's help to open doors and be together again!
After four crazy years, more than 1200 concerts and performances from Mondays to Sundays, several dozen exhibitions and millions of toasts, we were also forced to close our doors. Last summer, we left home and got out into the sun, promoting concerts wherever they let us, always with the conviction that we had to move on. Soon after, we lost one of the most important members of our family. The end of this project and of this team was close. Once again we followed, mainly for him.
More than a year closed and without any support, we are (finally!!) preparing to reopen! For that, we will need a final little push that depends on everyone's help. We need some new technical material and to pay some obligatory licenses to open doors as soon as the world allows it.
We therefore ask all the Bartô family to help us get through this phase by contributing and sharing the campaign.
Soon, and with everyone's help, we'll toast together again!
Clube do Choro de Lisboa - só no Bartô!
About the author
Bartô is Chapitô's bar and a reference in Lisbon's cultural scene. Over four years we have hosted and promoted numerous concerts, performances and exhibitions, always with the strong belief that together we are much stronger.
"21.00 hours - the lights are lowered and the instruments are tuned. The tables are plaid with small candles, there is a glass ceiling with eyes turned to the sky, at the bar colourful drinks and jars of savouries await.
In the memory, tertulias, poetry and conversations, meetings of old friends, a lit fireplace and music to accompany. In the memory a tank that if today disputes the best place for the show, before it disputed the hands of imprisoned women who scrubbed clothes and dreams of freedom. On the walls the wonderful library that is born every morning to be transformed into brilliance and toasts at night.
22.00 pm - through the stairs arrive from all over the world, laughter and greetings, high heels, shoelaces, legs ready to dance.
23.00 hours - it begins. The music invades the two rooms to the soul. It is almost impossible to circulate, you stumble in dances, hugs, conversations, in those who sing glued to the band. The drinks follow their way at full speed. In common the immense desire to be there.
2 a.m. - Endless applause. The requests for an encore. The light goes up, the candles are extinguished. The vestiges of the night are put away. Footsteps disappear down the stairs until the next day.
And Bartô falls asleep timeless, full of all the times of the world."
